Foggy Days 12-18-2021

The Sun hasn’t come out very much over the past few days, but that, along with the cool weather, actually seems to draw the wildlife out into the open more. It was so good to finally see Ollie and Olivia (Otters) a few days ago, and now they have a child!! Molly the Gator is still deep in the swamp woods, protecting her nest. She will remain there until Summer comes.

Meanwhile, our Jones County Eagle (yet to be named) made another appearance. I still can’t wait to capture photos of it on a clear sunny day!

In the nearby woods (and more dreary weather), I followed three Fox Squirrels around. They are beautiful creatures, but very shy. If they see me, they take off, or sit very still. They are twice the size of a regular Gray Squirrel, measuring almost 3′ in length, from the tips of their noses to the tips of their tails.

The Hawks are still everywhere. I enjoy seeing them, chasing them down, and trying to get good shots of them. It’s not always easy!

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas, enjoying time with family and friends, and celebrating the birth of Jesus, Our Lord and Savior!!
