Fox Squirrels (And Friends)

Like the butcher who backed into the meat grinder, I have gotten a little behind in my work!!

I have been able to get a few decent shots here and there, but haven’t been able to publish them. I promise to do better!! Here is a sampling of some of God’s beautiful creatures I’ve seen lately.

First are Blackie and Goldie, the Fox Squirrels (same tree, different days). Fox Squirrels are much larger than Gray Squirrels. Adults, like these, are nearly three feet long! They have different markings, and beautiful, bushy tails (hence the name).

Next up is a large rafter of turkeys that I spotted in a nearby cemetery, during a small rain shower. It was interesting, to say the least!

Finally, there are a few shots of a Red-Bellied Woodpecker, eating a walnut from the same tree as Blackie and Goldie, a cute little Bluebird (of Happiness), and a beautiful juvenile Red-Tailed Hawk.

I hope y’all enjoy these photos. There will be more to come in the very near future. Thank you for taking the time to visit. Please feel free to share with your family and friends across the social media platforms.
